I live in New York City and I'm surrounded by books all day and when I go home I have more books waiting for me. Read my "About" page on top to see what I mean. I just want to share my book experiences and my love of all-things-books, with hopefully the occasional review thrown in. If you wish to contact me, the address is polishoutlanderATgmailDOTcom

Thank you!

A big THANK YOU to Page of One Book at a Time for this award. My apologies for not posting this sooner, but let it be known it is truly appreciated.

The rules of this one is to list ten honest things about me and then pass the award on to ten other book bloggers. So here it goes:

1. I immigrated from Poland when I was four, and lived and grew up in NYC. As a result, I tend to walk really fast without knowing it, leaving others behind.

2. I went to college in Boston and majored in English. Apparently I was (and still am) very picky about which classic literature I liked.

3. Being from NYC with a Bostonian husband, I am still indifferent to the Red Sox/Yankees rivalry (however, when the Red Sox play the Yankees, I do remind Josh to wear his Red Sox shirt).

4. I wish someone could pay me to go to school. I think I’d be quite happy going to class for a living and writing papers.

5. I own a Renaissance Faire dress.

6. Miss Piggy is, by far, my favorite Muppet, much to the dismay of Josh since he thinks she’s a bad influence on me :)

7. I love squirrels for some reason. I even had a favorite one in college on the campus; he was easily recognizable by his stubby tail.

8. I am a huge fan of Xena, and this is evidenced by the fact that I have a chakram hanging in the house.

9. For some reason, writing poetry is easier for me than writing prose.

10. The CDs in our home are held in a piece of furniture that looks like a library catalog.

  • Congrats! And here I am to give you yet another blog award!

  • Being paid to go to school would be a DREAM. I’ve promised myself an Arts degree when I’ve had a few novels published and I’ll do all the stuff I couldn’t do in science: art history, anthropology, some more archaelogy, lit studies…Can’t wait!

Thanks so much for the award.

    And yay Xena. Aiaiaiaiaiai!

  • Why Thank You!!!!

And I’m totally with you on wanting to be paid to go to school. If I could, i’d go to school for the rest of my life.

  • Thank you for the great award. I loved reading your ten honest things! :)
Now we know a little bit more about you.

  • Why thank you, my dear. :D

  • Also:

    That’s hilarious.

  • i’m honored. and congrats on this award. it’s nice to learn a bit about you. hey, i have ren faire garb in my closet as well. huzzah! lucy lawless rocks! i liked her in battlestar galatica as d’anna. have you heard her sing?

  • I did in fact hear her sing: when she was playing Rizzo in GREASE years ago on Broadway, my friend and I went to see the show (she was the one who introduced me to Xena in the first place). I still have the poster from that show. Also, two years ago, LL came to NYC to play a few nights at a small club, the Canal Room, so I dragged my husband to see her with me. I was so ecstatic! And Renee O’Connor joined her on the stage too at one point. And then after the show when I went in search of the bathroom, I walked right by Renee and just stared at her in awe. They’re having the 15th anniversary Xena convention in Los Angeles in February, and I’m really thinking if I can manage to go somehow. When she did that show in NYC, they did hold a Xena convention but unfortunately I couldn’t attend because we had to leave for our vacation. Love, love her!

  • Eeee thanks so much!!!!! :D You madam also totally deserve it :)
